It is believed that the transmission will be stronger, and also improve fuel efficiency on top of that. The new Cummins model increases in weight from 26,000 pounds to 30,000 pounds, making this truck weigh almost as much as Godzilla.

The Pentastar V-6 engine will not be making its debut in the 2012 Ram, it was infused in both the 2011 Dodge Challenger as well as the 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.  In the 2011 Dodge Challenger the Pentastar V-6 comes in at 305 hp and 268 lb-ft and in the Jeep Grand Cherokee it’s rated at 290 hp and 260 lb-ft. With that being said, it will give the Ram a large increase in power, gas mileage and probably other ratings to come versus the previous engine that was featured in the 2011 Ram 1500.
